Garden Verve was born out of passion and frustration: a passion for plants and the incredible value that a great garden can add to our quality of life, and the frustration of seeing so many wonderful garden designs let down by weak planting.

Plant and horticultural knowledge in the landscaping industry can be surprisingly low. Creating gardens with year-round purpose and appeal is something that’s often overlooked by landscape designers, who tend to lack planting expertise and dominate gardens with too many hard materials.

Our focus is firmly on plants and planting. We want our gardens to look fantastic all year round, which we achieve through our comprehensive knowledge along with 30+ years of creating London gardens

Led by qualified horticulturalist and plant expert Jonathan Kemp, we create inspiring, on-budget planting schemes for the domestic and commercial market in South West London. As these schemes grow and evolve, we provide a support service to make sure that, by using best horticultural practice, the plants thrive and continually compliment the space they’ve been put into.

Jonathan has developed a network of high-profile clients and expert partners, working with them on many highly successful projects including The Chelsea Flower Show and Hampton Court Palace Show.

Originally from rural Hampshire, Jonathan loves bringing nature into the city. He gained his formal horticultural education at Sparsholt College in Winchester and Pershore College in the Cotswolds: this instilled him with the expert plant knowledge needed to stand out above the competition.
